THE OPPORTUNITY: PERSON IN CHARGE (PIC)
The Person in Charge (PIC) will be responsible for providing the
highest professional standards of care to our residents to develop
their strengths, promote their independence, and meet their practical,
physical and emotional needs on a daily basis.
The overall objective of the role is to ensure that the quality of
service and quality of care is always to the highest possible standard
whilst adhering to regulatory requirements. You will also be
responsible for providing leadership and management to the team
ensuring that our vision and values are understood and acted upon.
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for two houses in
Co. Meath and report directly to the Director of Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Promoting best practice in the delivery of care and providing
clinical expertise and support within the Multidisciplinary Team to
ensure the services to persons with a disability are always provided
within a relationship based on respect and equality.
* Ensuring a high quality of life for residents through
person-centred care plans, health promotion, and personal risk
assessments, as appropriate.
* Maintaining and enhancing the professional services and provision
of care to residents, managing all operational matters (clinical and
non-clinical) to improve residents? quality of life.
* Being responsible for the supervision and assessment of staff
under your direction and to take a leadership role in clinical
governance including quality assurance, practice development, and
clinical practice.
* Leading the implementation and provision of quality care that
meets HIQA standards.
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining an actual and planned
staff roster ensuring and clearly showing staff on duty during the day
and night.
* Promoting the concepts of person-centered care through high
standards and professional practice that meet the physical, emotional,
social, and intellectual needs of the residents.
* Ensuring that all relevant records and documentation are kept
appropriately and up to date in relation to residents and staff, in
particular ensuring compliance with record keeping in line with
legislation and HIQA requirements.
* Participating in the development of policy and procedures and
continuously monitoring and assessing performance against such
policies and procedures.
* Ensuring the internal and external audit processes are managed in
line with policies and procedures.
* Ensuring that risks are proactively identified and supporting the
appropriate persons in the treatment of such risks and are reported
upon and escalated appropriately.
* Ensuring all staff have appropriate training as required,
including refresher training as part of continuous professional
development.
* Providing strong leadership to the team and developing and
supporting a strong culture of quality and safety in service delivery.
* Being responsible for all aspects of the Health and Safety of
residents and staff and compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
* Keeping up to date with any changes in legislation including but
not limited to the Health Sector, Disability Sector, Health & Safety
etc.
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Must hold a Nursing Degree (Be registered in the relevant Division
of the Live Register of Nurses maintained by Nursing & Midwifery Board
of Ireland (NMBI) OR Hold a Level 8 Degree in Social Care.
* Have a minimum of three years Managerial Experience within the
Health Sector.
* Hold a recognized Managerial Qualification (minimum level 6 on the
National Framework of Qualifications).
* Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the
appropriate level.
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
